Value investing is an investment philosophy, originally developed by Benjamin Graham and later championed by his most successful student, Warren Buffett, in which an investor seeks to calculate the “intrinsic value” of an asset in order to buy the asset at a sufficient “margin of safety”, which is representative of the discount between the price paid and the aforementioned intrinsic value.
